Holiday Lights on the River
Now - December 31, 2014
From November 26th through December 31st, Saluda Shoals Park will come alive in a blaze of more than a million sparkling lights. Holiday Lights on the River features over 400 themed, animated light displays on a two-mile loop of the Park! Enjoy the Dazzling Dancing Forest with its dancing, lighted trees synchronized to classical and whimsical holiday music. See the three dimensional Victorian Village, Old Man Winter, the holiday classic Twelve Days of Christmas and so much more, all in sparkling lights. Take a stroll along the boardwalk through the Wetland Wonderland Walking Trail and watch nature come to life in sparkling lights. Take a hayride to the boardwalk for $1 per person or walk along the new trail to the Wetland and enjoy a laser light show and the Deck the Doors Holiday door display along the way. Lights Before Christmas at Riverbanks Zoo

Experience Columbia's longest running holiday tradition! Bring the kids and the camera and see why Lights Before Christmas has continued as a family tradition for more than 25 years. Enjoy nearly one million twinkling lights, counless animated images and dazzling Music in Motion Lights. Every day is a SNOW DAY at EdVenture Children's Museum from November 22nd through February 22nd! Strap on some ice skates and pack your mittens for a frosty, fun-filled trip to Snowville. Cirque Dreams Holidaze

Now in its 5th year of touring multiple simultaneous productions, CIRQUE DREAMS HOLIDAZE is “so full of energy it could end our dependence on oil” according to the New York Daily News and “stuffed with so much holiday cheer and audacious acts, Scrooge would exit with a big ol’ smile on his face” proclaims the Erie Times News about this “Broadway-worthy spectacle”. Broadway World calls Cirque Dreams Holidaze “The Perfect Holiday Gift, chock full of stupefying stunts that Cirque Dreams’s competitors aren’t even attempting.

Jingle All The Way

The former Mrs. USA, Tammy Johns, and her award winning Carolina FreeStyle dance team present a great evening of dance and celebration. Regular performers at the SC State Fair, Country Tonite Theater in Gatlinburg, Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, Walt Disney World in Florida, and New York City where they have performed on the National NBC television program the Today Show.

MCHS Band Christmas Concert

The MCHS Band Christmas Concert will be held on December 2, 2014 at the Newberry Opera House. Hear from Mid-Carolina High School's students in this special holiday event. Tickets are just $6.00 per person.

Something’s up with the weather.  The leaves are turning non-existent colors, unexpected snows are blanketing the orange groves and farmers are getting frost bite in the summer.  What is going on?  Is it global warming?  No, it’s Jack Frost being “creative” again. When Jack’s rebellion and yearning for self-expression start landing him in hot water, his parents The Snow Queen and The Frost King, decide that a little time spent with the industrious and practical Kringle family would teach the head-strong lad a lesson. Lake Murray Visitor center Holiday Open House
December 13 - 14, 2014
The theme for the 2014 Holiday Open House is “Hooked on the Holidays.”  Come enjoy light refreshments and holiday music as we get the Lorick Plantation into the holiday spirit.  We are looking forward to having this year's decorations be provided by Pisgah Lutheran Church, Garden Club of Saluda, Coldstream Garden Club, and Meeting Street Interiors.   Also, come meet South Carolina's very own and this year's Fishing League Worldwide champion, Anthony Gagliardi.  He will be stopping by to provide autographed FLW calendars. This is a free event!

Lexington County Museum Christmas Open House
December 14, 2014 from 1PM - 4PM
Come experience Christmas traditions of the past at the Lexington County Museum as it hosts its Annual Christmas Open House on December 14, 2014 from 1PM - 4PM. Many of the 30 historic houses one the Museum complex will be open and will feature period Christmas decorations. The event is free to the public. There will be live music and light refreshments including hot apple cider and gingerbread will be served! Click here for additional information.

Candlelight Tours & Carriage Rides
December 19, 2014 from 6PM - 9PM
Enjoy the decorated halls of our historic Robert Mills House, the Hampton-Preston Mansion and Mann-Simons Site by candlelight on a guided tour. As the sesquicentennial of the end of the Civil War approaches, we will glimpse into the lives of Columbians in the 1860s. Musical entertainment, children’s activities and interpretation of the houses will reflect the uncertainty of life in the South from viewpoints of enslaved workers to those of wealthy planters. Before or after your house tour, enjoy carriage rides through the Robert Mills historic district.
