Saluda Shoals Park is a 400 acre regional park located on the banks of the Saluda River. The Midlands Largest Drive-Through Lights Show! Saluda Shoals Park comes alive in a blaze of more than a million sparkling lights. Holiday Lights on the River features over 400 themed, animated light displays on a two-mile loop of the Park! Fun-filled family activities will be offered every night during Holiday Lights on the River. Visitors can ride the Red-Nose Express Hayride to the Wetland, ride the Saluda Shoals Choo-Choo, take a slide on the Winter Wonder Ride, walk along the lighted trail to the Wetland and enjoy a laser         light show and the Deck the Doors Holiday door display. Bodyshop Athletics Turkey Trot

This event includes: 1 Mile Fun Run / 2.5 Mile Run / 5 Mile Run. All proceeds from this race go directly to the High School Gameday Leadership and Prayer breakfast. Awards will be given to top 3 male & female 2.5 & 5 mile overall; 1st place male and female over 50 (old gobbler); 1st place male and female over 15 and under. Race begins at 7:30 A.M. Lexington Snowball Festival

December 4-6, 2015
The Lexington Snowball Festival kicks off on Friday night with the Concert & Carnival in the Square. Enjoy s'mores, hot chocolate and a tree lighting at 8PM. The Historic Lorick Plantation House (Lake Murray Visitor Center) steps back in time to Christmas season 1840 for our Annual Holiday Open House. Area Garden Clubs and volunteers - Coldstream Garden Club, Little Mountain Unlimited Antiques, Pisgah Lutheran Church and the Saluda Garden Club transform the Visitor Center into a Christmas haven with period decorations, including live and dried plant materials. Christmas with the Lettermen

 Tony Butala began singing professionally at age seven in Sharon, Pennsylvania, and by the age of eight was singing on KDKA Radio in Pittsburgh, PA. By 1960, The Lettermen - now Butala, Donovan Tea, and Bobby Poynton - were signed to Warner Brothers Records and released their first singles: “Their Hearts Were Full of Spring,” “When,” “The Magic Sound,” and “Two Hearts.”  The vision of The Lettermen was of three strong soloists who also had the ability to perform and entertain an audience, also having the discipline needed to be group singers. The sound they came up with was one between the big band vocal groups such as the Modernaires, Pied Pipers, Mills Brothers, Four Freshmen and the early R&B rock groups such as the Ink Spots, Flamingos and the Platters. Visit the decorated halls of our historic Robert Mills House and the Hampton-Preston Mansion by candlelight on a guided tour. Lake Murray Visitor center Holiday Open House

The theme for the 2014 Holiday Open House is “Hooked on the Holidays.”  Come enjoy light refreshments and holiday music as we get the Lorick Plantation into the holiday spirit.  We are looking forward to having this year's decorations be provided by Pisgah Lutheran Church, Garden Club of Saluda, Coldstream Garden Club, and Meeting Street Interiors.   Also, come meet South Carolina's very own and this year's Fishing League Worldwide champion, Anthony Gagliardi.  He will be stopping by to provide autographed FLW calendars. Lexington County Museum Christmas Open House

Candlelight Tours & Carriage Rides

Lake Murray Triathlon
May 4, 2014
The Lake Murray Triathlon has become a favorite chance for all South Carolina Triathletes to showcase their talents against the best in the state. Nestled in the center of South Carolina athletes from the Upstate, Midlands and Coastal regions converge into Columbia each year for this sprint distance event. The swim is one counter-clockwise 750 meter loop, the bike course is long for a sprint distance event - one 16 mile loop and the 5k run course is very unique in that runners get several opportunities to see where they are in relation to the competition.

28th South Carolina Poultry Festival
May 8 - 10, 2014
One morning in 1986, members of the Leesville Merchants Association flocked together to hatch the concept of a town festival. It was Sara Shealy, famous throughout the region for eggs-traordinary fried chicken served in her Batesburg-Leesville restaurant, who courageously proposed the development of a Poultry Festival for the Lexington County community. After much clucking and crowing, the head rooster called for a vote and the Poultry Festival was hatched. Jailbreak Lexington 5K

Over the past seven years, over 3,100 participants of all ages and fitness levels have gathered in Lexington to enjoy a morning of fun and friendly competition.  In the process, over $60,000 has been raised to support law enforcement efforts in Lexington County. For the second year in a row, the Jailbreak 5K has been selected as one of South Carolina’s Top Races (at all distances) by the state’s USATF representative, Bill Marable. The 2014 Flaslight Easter Egg Hunt and Carnival will be held at Gibson Road Soccer Complex on April 4, 2014. There will be over 100,000 plastic filled Easter Eggs, games, prizes, food and fun. Indie Grits Film Festival

Quarry Crusher Run

Can you rock the Quarry? The Quarry Crusher Run is the only race of its kind in the southeast. This once-in-a-lifetime look inside a magnificent landscape that is prohibited to the general public will leave a lasting memory in addition to the aching of your muscles and bones. The approximately 3.72-mile route starts and finishes near the Olympia-Granby Mills in the Olympia Village, but it grows each year as the quarry gets deeper. Once in the quarry, the route winds down a 10% grade through granite cliffs to the quarry floor.
