An Intimate Evening with Art Garfunkel

Southern Guitar Festival and Competition
June 6-8, 2014
The Southern Guitar Festival and Competition is an annual event that will bring world caliber guitarists to Columbia, South Carolina. This Columbia festival inspires and educates guitar professionals as well as amateurs. The Southern Guitar Festival will encompass concerts, masterclasses, lectures, and an international competition.

3rd Annual Paddle Bender
June 7, 2014
Get involved at the 3rd Annual Paddle Bender, regardless of your ability level. All kayaks, canoes, and SUP's are welcome at this fundraiser for Carolina Wildlife Care. There will be 4 and 8 mile courses. The 2014 Paddle Bender will be the weekend after Memorial Day once again. There will be unique awards presented three deep in multiple categories for both race distances. Cash prizes for the top overall male, top overall female, and top tandem kayak paddlers from the 8 mile course. Click here for additional information.

Palmetto State Guitar Show

Roller Derby at Jamil Temple

The Columbia QuadSquad will compete at home against Duke City on June 8, 2014. The game will be at Jamil Temple in Columbia, South Carolina.  Flat track roller derby is a fast paced, hard-hittig sport requiring athleticism and agility. Bouts consist of a series of two minute jams with four blockers and one jammer, designated by a star on her helmet, from each team on the track. The Quilting and Knitting Expo in Columbia SC presents quilting fabrics, books, notions, and patterns.  Fiber enthusiasts will find yarns and sorts of things for knitting and felting.  If you love wool, there will be several wool vendors from which to choose.  Sewing machine and longarm machine vendors will be glad to give you test drive on any of the machines that they have in their booths.  Parking is free and there will be food available on site.
